DDSL Referees 24/25 Important Information

On behalf of everyone in the DDSL ,we welcome and thank you for assisting us for the coming season, it is appreciated.

As promised from our recent meeting ,we attach the rules of the ddsl for the coming season.

We have added to our website (under Downloads) match cards, red card reports, rules etc. should you require these. We will ask clubs to print off all match cards but suggest

you carry a few with you. We will also upload our presentation and the FAI ‘Racism’ Presentation over the next week or two as well.

We have also clarified fees with FAI as asked and detail of these are on the web as well as attached.

We have also attached a copy of matchday routines which we are operating as part of a whole ‘’Respect/Lets the kids play’’ campaign which

will launch mid-September. We will give you more information as that evolves.

With results, we ask that all results are updated and sent back with picture of match card via the APP or to results@ddsl.ie at latest on Sunday evening each week.

One final Matter – we are asking all referees to ensure their info is correct on our system/App and would appreciate you populate the information in full especially availability and in particular location tab (which identifies area you live in) as this will assist in us allocating games for you. Link is https://ddsl.sportsmanager.ie/referee/login.php

It is also very important referees accept/reject fixtures with 48 hours to the league (By Tuesday 10am) once published. Any games not accepted/rejected after that period will be reallocated .

We hope we have covered everything and should you have any queries please mail referees@ddsl.ie

LET THE KIDS PLAY – ITS THEIR GAME!

Firstly, we would like to thank you for the work so far in getting your club, teams, volunteers and of course players to the stage of the league starting this weekend. We know this is a massive workload on volunteers and everyone involved-So well done so far!

We are reminding all clubs of the importance of working together with the league to ensure a smooth running of the season and is so important the processes and communication channels in place are used where possible.

We have over 22,000 players registered which is way ahead of last year with another 25,000 to register over the next 2 weeks. The number of teams now exceeds 3,400 with 1700 plus games per week.

A few things that will help.

  1. Please ensure everyone in your club is familiar with the rules and policies of the league (details on the DDSL web).
  2. Communications to the league are only by club secretaries or approved persons of the club notified to the league.
  3. Check the system for incomplete player registration and action.
  4. Check All players are registered, and team panels created for every team before they play a game.
  5. Double check entries for Sfai, Lfa, and Fai competitions are done on time.(if Applicable)
  6. Check the DDSL website for all your fixtures, updates and news regularly.

Most importantly read the attached – Match day and behaviour codes introduced this season and send it now to all your club members/volunteers etc.

This is so important to all the children in our league important having an experience they deserve.

Please also see NEW DDSL Match Card for use in all games – clubs are asked to have completed before match commences and are available to download from DDSL website.

Thanking you and wishing you and everyone in your club the best for the coming season.

SFAI SUBWAY – NATIONAL CUP 2024/25

The entry portal for the 2024-25 SFAI SUBWAY National Cups can be found on the link below:

2024/25 SUBWAY – Entry Portal

The entry fee for each team is €25.

If your club is entering multiple teams, please indicate which division or suitable label you would like to use to differentiate the teams at the same age level.

Closing date SEPTEMBER 5th

We were thrilled with the record participation in the 2023/24 competitions. Compared to pre-pandemic levels, the boys’ competition has seen an terrific increase of 375 entries, while the girls’ competition has reached an impressive 585 entries, marking a rise of 380 from 2019 figures.

This trend is a testament to both the enthusiasm for these opportunities and, more fundamentally, the bedrock of commitment and dedication within grassroots football across all areas of the country.

Last season also marked the second iteration of the SFAI SUBWAY Trophy for both boys and girls, providing an invaluable opportunity for more teams to engage in national-level competition.  This is especially significant after Christmas during the national rounds, as the emotional involvement fosters genuine engagement that drives the game forward.

We extend our thanks to the coaches and managers who are dedicated to nurturing the young players across the country.

Similarly to the incredible support system surrounding each team is invaluable, our gratitude to parents, guardians, club administrators, league officials, and coordinators. Your relentless efforts, often behind the scenes, make a tremendous difference.  Appreciation also to the match officials who officiate thousands of games from start to finish.

Finally, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to SUBWAY for their ongoing support of grassroots football.
