Republic of Ireland Assistant Manager Keith Andrews

Dublin & District Schoolboys/Girls League have teamed up with the children’s charity ISPCC Childline

We hope that by working together we can let all of the players across Dublin City and County know that the support of Childline is always there for you, if you ever need it.

The last year has been very difficult for many children and young people in Ireland. We know that you are missing your soccer training, matches and of course seeing your friends and coaches. We hope that the following tips might give you some ideas about how to take care of your emotional wellbeing through this time.

Talking Makes Us Stronger

Sometimes, we may feel that our thoughts and feelings are becoming hard to cope with. Talking makes us stronger and can help us cope with strong emotions.

Is there an adult you trust that you can talk with about how you are feeling? This might be someone in your family, or even when you get back to school soon a teacher or S.N.A.

Dublin & District Schoolboys’/Girls’ League Is Proud To Partner With ISPCC Childline.
04/11/2020

The Dublin & District Schoolboys’/Girls’ League is delighted to announce it is partnering with the Childline listening service, as delivered by the ISPCC.

We are very proud to partner with an organization that provides such an important range of services to young people all over the Country.

From a DDSL perspective, this reflects our commitment to the health and wellbeing of all our underage players off the pitch as well as on it.

We understand that many young people face challenges in their lives, not least in the current environment with COVID-19. While football provides an important outlet for physical and mental wellbeing, it is critically important that our young people are aware of the services provided by Childline and are encouraged to avail of them where required.

We look forward to playing our part in highlighting these services through our League and our extensive Club network across the Greater Dublin Area and beyond.
